I have experienced many things in Cal State Fullerton. I got to know many students from different countries. I learned a lot of things from my teachers and I am thankful for that. Through these weeks I had a lot of fun. The students are very polite and help you out on everything. ALP classes helped me with many things. Its good because it brings back everything I studied and this is a good preperation for entering a university.

Thankful moment

On December 23, 2006 I woke up early in the morning. I packed my bag to go diving. Usually I go diving every Saturday. After I ate my breakfast I left at 1:00 p.m. I reached the boat at 2:00 p.m. and got ready for diving. During the day, when I was diving, I felt like I couldn’t breathe properly under the water. It was fifteen feet under the ocean. I tried pulling the rope to get back up but unfortunately it didn’t work. So, I had to leave the tank to sink or else I would sink with it. First, I tried removing the tank but it was really heavy. Then I had to use the extra air tank because I was out of breath. Finally, the air tank suddenly worked, and that was a really thankful moment for me.

William Faulkner

William Faulkner an American author of the novel "As I Lay Dying". I read the novel back home in the UAE. It was one of my favorite novels. William published the novel in 1930. The novel is about a family that travels a long distance to burry the mother of the family. William wrote the novel with many different events. That is what I admire from the novel.

Sheikh Zayed

His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the most outstanding leader in the history of the world, was born in 1918 and named after his grandfather. He was the youngest son of Sheikh Sultan, the traditional ruler of Abu Dhabi from 1922 to 1926, and he grew up in Al Ain where he spent most of his life. He was the ruler of Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates for 30 years. Sheikh Zayed was appointed by the other six Sheikhs in 1971 to be president of UAE. The main reason why UAE completely transformed was the discovery of oil in 1958.Sheikh Zayed brought together the seven separate Emirates. The great oil boom brought a huge income to the UAE, and .Sheikh Zayed handed out oil revenues to his people. Sheikh Zayed began to transform his country. He assembled a government, and he created departments for water, judiciary, health, education, police, finance, and communication. Sheikh Zayed provided housing facilities, schools and health care centers for his people, he also constructed an airport, sea port, huge roads and bridges to make transportation easier in his country. He planted thousands of trees and he improved irrigation, and these were his most enduring achievements. He was set as an example of the earth champions and also as a genius leader. Sheikh Zayed, who was deeply beloved by his people passed away on November 2, 2004. He was believed to be eighty-six years old. On November 3 Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, his eldest son, was elected to be the ruler of Abu Dhabi.

SAIF

I have experienced a lot of things in the United States. Living in California is different than living in the UAE. First, I thought the weather wouldn’t be as hot as it is in the UAE. But later on I realized that the weather became colder, usually in the UAE it takes till December for the cold winter. But hopefully I will get use to it.
